Company Overview

Southcoast Health is a not-for-profit, community-based health system serving southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. With multiple hospitals and access points, it delivers a full continuum of care to its communities.  To support its mission, Southcoast needed better visibility into facility performance across a variety of vendor building management systems. Executive Director of Facilities Christopher LeBlanc sought a real-time monitoring and commissioning solution that would empower engineering teams with actionable insight to improve patient comfort, reduce energy use, and extend equipment reliability.

Customer Success / Quote

Southcoast Health’s engineering teams previously struggled to manage facility performance across multiple vendor building management systemsβ€”with no unified view, limited ability to anticipate HVAC and mechanical issues, and rising energy and maintenance costs across more than two million square feet of medical facilities. Critical areas like operating rooms and sterilization units demanded strict environmental oversight that fragmented systems simply couldn’t provide.

β€œFor over 12 years, FacilityConneX has given our engineering teams the real-time insight to stay ahead of issuesβ€”delivering consistent energy savings, improved patient comfort, and the confidence that our critical environments are always performing to standard.” – Chris LeBlanc

Since deploying FacilityConneX in 2013 across Charlton Memorial, St. Luke’s, Tobey Hospital, and the Fairhaven Cancer Center, Southcoast Health has achieved a 15% reduction in electrical use and maintenance costs year-over-year for 12 consecutive years. Monitoring more than 1,600 pieces of equipment and 21,000+ daily analytics, the platform empowers staff to resolve issues proactivelyβ€”before they ever affect patient care.

With continuous commissioning, unified visibility across all BMS platforms, and monthly FCXperience sessions to identify new energy conservation measures, Southcoast Health has built a track record of validated savings, reduced carbon impact, and environmental compliance across its most critical clinical spaces.
